The day-before the day-before-you-leave has been a productive day. I walked into Target and handed them my wallet and said, "Take all you want." In exchange, I heeded the advice of travel planners and purchased one of everything that you "might need and should have on hand" while out of the country. Things like band-aids, sinus medicine, cough medicine, cold medicine, allergy medicine, benadryl, tylenol pm, anti-diarrhea medicine AND the "opposite-case" medicine, neosporin, LOTS of travel wipes (no "tp" in China), and LOTS of hand sanitizer (back to the no "tp" in China). As I was packing all these items, I could not help but to remember that there are differences between boys and girls. Will the contents of Troy's suitcase be able to meet the medicinal needs of a small Chinese village while simultaneously using "awesome orange" hand sanitizer? I think not. Women will be the ones to save this world.
Speaking of women, an incredible woman volunteered her home and her family to be the caretakers of Sarah-the-dog while we are in China. For security reasons, we cannot disclose Sarah's location. We would not want a long line of cars to be filing past the "house where Sarah is." (Although that would be a good t-shirt business.) Because Sarah considers herself a permanent resident of our bed and occupies 1/2 of it on any given night, we bought her a doggie bed while she stays in her Country-Club home. You can see that this bed is just right for our little Goldilocks.

dang it, i wasn't signed up so i've got to try and recount all my comments.
anyway, that picture reminds me of my dobie, mason, curled up in the front seat of my old 350Z in the travels from Dallas to Nashville. At every stop point we had, there was much disbelief of how such a big dog fit in the front seat with all the other stuff i had packed in the car. With the seat heater on the lowest setting, all i heard was the occassional "SIGH" with regard to such an inconvenient position that i had put him in.....riding for 10+ hours curled up in the front seat of this car.
anyway, Sarah looks.......comfortable? no doubt she was "humoring" you by cramming herself into the dog bed while previously living the life of reilly with her position on the bed. While she will act excited to see you two upon your return, rest assured you will feel the wrath of the "post-trip cold shoulder".......
Here's to the best of ruck in China......
Hi, Mom & Dad! It's me, Sarah! My hostess is having technical issues figuring out how to blog under my name - but, we'll try this tonight!
Well, I've been crying tonight...and my hostess's husband doesn't understand why I keep jumping in bed with him?! It turns out that the smaller-blond-one has offered to share her bed with me and I think it will be OK... Hey, by the way, those treat biscuits you bought the host puppy and me are realllllll gooood.
Don't worry, Mom & Dad, I'm really getting into this 'backyard' thing and dog door...who knew? I love you and miss you!
Lick, lick & nuzzle,
Sarah
Hi, Mom and Dad...It's me, Sarah!
I've had a great day!!! We did this thing called 'GARDENING'!!! We were outside all day in the yard with so many things to chew on and playing - I like GARDENING!
I've been eating well, but my sleep is a little off. I think tonight will be better, but I really want to get in the BIG bed with hostess and husband - I actually sneaked in on husband when he was asleep last night. Hostess nearly had heart failure - until she remembered to scream "OFF Sarah!" So, I did...maybe they just need to get used to me?
Hostess is remembering to use my ear creme, and everyone here is pretty laid back...except when I sneak in with husband. Oh, well...
We're getting ready for an early night tonight because of the time change.
Hostess and I said a little prayer for your safe travel. I love you!
*Snort-lick and nuzzle* ~ Sarah
